Investing in Tomorrow's Generation 29. 5. 2025

In the past few weeks we have had several high school students doing internships at Bochemie. Students from Ostrava, Karviná and Orlová, specifically from the fields of electrical engineering and IT technologies, expanded their knowledge and skills.

Four students from the Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Ostrava came to us - two students from the Electrical Engineering field completed their internship in electrical maintenance and two students from the Information Technology field participated in automation projects. Furthermore, a 3rd year electrical engineering student from the Secondary Industrial School in Karviná and two 3rd year students from the Secondary General School (Gymnázium) and Business Academy in Orlová with a focus on IT technologies gained practical experience with us.

The electrical maintenance internship included activities such as wiring electric motors, repairing plant lighting, performing basic measurements in electrical cabinets, and checking wiring as well as routine operational maintenance. In the field of automation, the students helped with the installation, configuration and commissioning of Oracle VirtualBox for the management of legacy industrial systems. As part of IT support, they were involved in hardware diagnosis and servicing, preparation of laptops, installation of operating systems, and configuration of peripherals. They tried managing user accounts in Active Directory, installing applications and dealing with common user requests. In addition, they gained their first experience with PowerShell and its use for automation of IT processes.

The aim of the internship was to broaden the students' theoretical knowledge with practical aspects and to provide them with a realistic view of the functioning of automation, electrical maintenance and IT support in a corporate environment. All students approached the internship responsibly, adapted quickly to the new environment, and showed interest in the field. We believe that the experience they have gained will be useful not only in their continued studies, but also in their future careers. We are glad that we could contribute to their professional growth.
